Elena Cotrone
Violin
Born in 1999, Elena Kyoko Cotrone started playing the violin at the age of seven. She received her first lessons with Thierry Huchin at the music school of Bagneux, an encounter that ignited her deep passion for the instrument.
She made her orchestral debut at thirteen with the Conservatory of Créteil and, in the same year, was invited to perform with the orchestra Senza Sordini in Paris.
In 2013, she was admitted to the class of Alexis Galpérine at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.
During her studies, she worked with renowned pedagogues including Éric Crambes, Ana Haas, François Salque, Claire Désert, Michel Michalakakos, Michel Strauss, Maria Beloussova, Valérie Aimard, Jean-François Heisser, and Jérôme Pernoo.
Elena has distinguished herself in several competitions. In 2014, she won the 3rd Prize at the Mirecourt International Violin Competition, along with the Special Prize for the most remarkable personality and the Luthier's Prize.
She has also received awards at the Leonid Kogan International Competition in Brussels and the Leopold Bellan and Vatelot-Rampal competitions in Paris.
In 2018, she obtained her Master's degree and moved to Germany to continue her studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK) with Prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg and Prof. Mirijam Contzen. She has further enriched her artistic development by participating in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Dong-Suk Kang, Svetlin Roussev, Philippe Graffin, Marc Danel, members of the Ebene quartet, a s well a s the Artemis quartet.
She is currently playing in the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
